Zombie Walks was inspired by my husband, as he loves Zombie movies.... For this creation, again I started with the head, in the same technique as shown in my... HEAD TUTORIAL.
The Zombies head, as you can see in the pictures, he has his mouth open... In this early stage I opted out, of placing any teeth in, as I was worried they would get broke. You may also notice that his head is a little singed.... I unfortunately left him a little to long in the over.... Big bad!!!... But I am not to worried as he is going to be painted.
The body was made with a tin foil core around a wire armature, as done with my previous creation... The clay was then added over the foil... In this creation I wanted to create the body skeletal form separate from the clothing, so I constructed the bone and flesh first, baked it, then added the clothing on top... See pic 14.
After the torso was finished I added the arms, hands, legs and feet... I knew that I needed the Zombie to be detachable from his base, so I had to make sure I left some of the wire armature poking out of the base of his feet, so that they would then slot into the finished base...

This creation was made in section first the figure, then base, followed by the headstone and scary hand coming out of the grave... The base was made first with a piece of wood cut to shape, which I then covered with clay, and built up the grave yard scene... The tombstone was also constructed the same way -- Wood then clay. The rising hand was made on a wire armature and following the same techniques as yo can see in my HAND TUTORIAL.
Finally I arranged and glued the different piece to my base, and began to add the finishing touches... Dried grass, and the most important part the paint finish, using Artist Acrylics.... Once completely happy I matt varnished the whole thing to protect the paint work.
